“The spirit of the community has been uplifted you know from the work you Mob are doing, this is how real change happens. Our people doing this work for ourselves because only we have the solutions for our community. As someone who has faced tough times and struggled to ask for help, I can say without hesitation that you provide support with genuine pride and compassion. Your work brings hope back to the heart of Blak Redfern."

“There are days when I come in here feeling completely exhausted and at my wit's end about the struggles we face but you Mob always manage to fill my cup and my tea cup. you genuinely care about our community and what's happening here. I don't know what I would have done if it wasn't for your help, it makes the world of difference to do things the way you do it.”

“There's meant to be places around here to get help from, I went to centrelink and they printed me out a whole list of places to go get help but not one of them did or treated me with any dignity so I never went back you know. I’d get stuck paying my rent and bills you know so I’d cut down on having only one meal a day and by the end of the fortnight I was eating just dry toast for a few days. Now but it's the highlight of my week coming down to the centre for a cuppa and yarn with other Elders and taking home things like fresh fruit, roast beef and coffee. I can rarely afford these things so I'm very grateful, it's made me feel like someone actually cares.”

- Uncle Moose

“It is no exaggeration to say that our ability to help Elders and community members in inner Sydney would be severely impacted without First Nations Response. In the year prior to First Nations Response’s entry in the food relief space, FBNA distributed 2,000 meals through First Nations organisations in inner Sydney. Since beginning out partnership in 2020, FBNA and First Nations Response distributed the equivalent of 111,000 meals to people in their time of need.”
